Letter from the Editor

Dear reader,

There are only so many words to describe how music makes us all feel: it lifts our spirits, it inspires our everyday moves, and it shapes the future for generations to come. Bold, courageous women like Madonna and Stevie Nicks have shown women across the world that it’s ok to stand out in the name of self-expression. Forever-known names like David Bowie and A$AP Rocky have taught men that androgyny is empowerment, and clothing is expression. Today’s artists like Beyoncé, Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift walk a road long paved by stars who rose into the spotlight by doing one thing: wearing their identity. Clothes have the power to define us—Nicks’ shawls represent her free spirit, Bowie’s colors translate his eclectic energy, and Cher’s carefully crafted red carpet looks define her as a powerhouse of music and style. There are only so many words that describe how music makes us all feel. Yet, there are plenty of clothes to embody the music. Music shapes fashion, and fashion tells our story. There’s only one thing left to say: Long Live Fashion, and Long Live Rock & Roll. Without further ado, I present to you Edition XXIII: Sounds of Style.

Xoxo,
Soso Kestelman
